The Fine Print

Privacy

Last updated June 25, 2026

The Pirate's Cove is a small, free collection of web experiences made by one person. I want it to be delightful and trustworthy, so here's a plain, honest account of the little data the site touches — and the things it deliberately does not do.

The short version

  • I don't sell your data, run ad networks, or track you across the web.
  • Analytics here are cookieless — no advertising cookies, no cross-session profile of you.
  • Signing in is optional, handled by Patreon, and only tells the site whether you're a supporter.
  • If you message me through the contact form, I only use it to read and reply.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand roughly how many people visit and which experiences they enjoy, so I know where to spend my time. It runs in a privacy-first, cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode with analytics storage denied): it sets no cookies on your device and doesn't build a persistent profile of you across visits. It collects only aggregate, non-identifying information such as page views, approximate region, and general device or browser type.

The site's host, Cloudflare, also provides its own privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics (aggregate visit counts). It likewise sets no tracking cookies and doesn't identify you.

Signing in with Patreon

Logging in is entirely optional and exists only to unlock supporter perks (like custom team color themes in the World Cup tracker). Sign-in is handled by Patreon's OAuth — the site never sees your Patreon password. The site requests the minimum it needs: your basic profile (display name and avatar) and whether you're an active supporter of the project.

That small profile is stored in a single signed, secure cookie in your browser so you stay logged in. There is no separate database — the site keeps no server-side copy of your account. Logging out, or letting the session expire, removes it.

The contact form

If you use the Contact form, the title and message you write are sent to me so I can read and respond — "Feedback" creates a private issue in the project's repository, and "Say Hi" emails me directly. If you choose to include your email address, it's used only to reply to you. I don't add you to any mailing list.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like virtually all web hosts, Cloudflare processes basic request information (such as IP addresses) to serve the site securely and to protect against abuse. That handling is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Children

The Pirate's Cove is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Since the site keeps no mailing list, the current version here is always the authoritative one.

Questions

Have a question about any of this? Use the Contact button at the top of the site and I'll be happy to help.

My Story

My creative journey started as a child with the profoundly simple joy of making things — drawing characters, imagining worlds, building “inventions” and trying to capture the spark of an idea before it slipped away.

Today, I’m still chasing that spark. I’m driven by the unquenchable thirst to bring ideas to life. My creative journey has been shaped by countless experiences and the person I’ve become… a Christian, a husband, a father, a former Disney/DreamWorks Animator, a creator, and someone who believes deeply that fostering and nurturing imagination and creativity is one of the most important pursuits in life.

This site is my way of honoring the imagination in each of us. A place where tools, ideas, and inspiration are shared freely. A place where creativity isn’t gated by cost or skill level. It’s a collection of ideas come to life and shared with each of you. I believe software should be delightful, free, and approachable. The Pirate’s Cove will always be dedicated to those ideals.

I use AI here — not as a replacement for creativity, but as a companion that helps accelerate my own messy, magical process of making things. It helps me personally in exploring ideas faster, experimenting more boldly, and dreaming bigger. It is simply another tool in a vast toolbox that helps me bring ideas to life.

My hope is that this page becomes a small corner of the internet where ideas feel possible, where curiosity is encouraged, and where anyone can build something delightful.

Thank you for being here. It is a sincere honor to have you visit.

“We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
— Walt Disney
